Drivers Check Point Network & Wireless Cards

This is true even when the wireless network adapter seems to function correctly. If you restart the computer or try to reinstall the wireless network adapter driver, this does not fix the problem. This problem may also prevent wired Ethernet connections from functioning correctly. SSL Network Extender uses a thin VPN client installed on the user's remote computer that connects to an SSL-enabled web server. The web server and the client are in the same VPN. SSL Network Extender is downloaded automatically from the Mobile Access portal to the endpoint machines, so that client software does not have to be pre-installed.

  • VPN Blade in Endpoint Security Client stops working after upgrading Windows OS to Windows 10 Version 1607 (Anniversary Update) and above.

  • All the network adapters are removed from the Windows 10 computer after performing the 'Network reset' operation.

  • Installation/upgrade of additional VPN Client on the Windows 10 Version 1607 (Anniversary Update and above) computer with already installed Endpoint Security Client either crashes the entire computer, or fails with:

There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.
A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected.

Example for Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client:
  • %WinDir%internet logsosfwlog.txt file (per sk65071) during the aforementioned operations shows that Windows 10 process svchost.exe delete operation is blocked by the Endpoint Security Client:

  • Uninstalling the Check Point Endpoint Security Client resolves the above issues.

  • Disabling self-protection resolves the issue.

Check Point Endpoint Security Client protects itself by blocking any process from removing network adapters from the HKCSvsdatantParametersAdapters registry key.

As a result, Windows OS svchost.exe process fails to proceed and leaves the Windows OS state broken.
